Burt’s Bees Customers Demand Re-order Capability

If I were to send my husband to the grocery store—which I never do, because, he forgets things—I would definitely say, “Honey, Don’t forget the Burt’s Bees.” I’ll admit, it. I like to be in control. That also means I like to be in control of being able to re-order things when I want, where I want. Usually from my iPhone. Turns out, so do most other smartphone users who are also Burt’s Bees customers. Let me explain.

We (meaning the GimmeAnother team) recently conducted another one of our surveys about online shopping habits, this time specifically in regards to Burt’s Bees. And results indicate that fans of Burt’s Bees Natural Skin Care Products are eager for a mobile re-order solution.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Burt’s Bees, you should probably do a personal grooming inventory. Likely you have dry skin, ragged cuticles and chapped lips. I jest. Burt’s Bees is a natural skin care and personal care product line that originated in Maine in the 1980s. Artist Roxanne Quimby began making candles from the leftover beeswax from local honey maker Burt Shavitz’s beehives. Quimby eventually began making personal care products from the honey and beeswax, as well. Clorox bought the business in late 2007.

Now the natural product line can be found in pharmacies, grocery stores and health food stores everywhere. And as our survey results show, people hate to be without their Burt’s Bees staples. Nearly half (42.6%) of respondents polled (from a randomized group) say they would re-order Burt’s Bees products on their iPhones using a re-order button if given the opportunity. The results were fairly even across various age groups. Among those 18 to 24 years of age, 46.4% answered, “Yes.” Among those 25 to 34 years of age, 52.7% answered, “Yes.” And of respondents 35 to 44 years of age, 47.9% answered favorably.

As an avid Burt’s Bees fan myself, I’m loath to be without many of the classic products that helped launched the brand, like the Beeswax Lip Balm, Almond Milk Hand Cream and Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream, to name a few. As of late, though, I am also obsessed with the Citrus and Ginger Body Wash, which I use as a bubble bath, and the wide array of Facial Cleansing Towelettes, which are the bomb for travel. What I love about Burt’s Bees is that its products are nontoxic, and I’m pretty picky about what I put on my skin and down my drains.

I digress. Burt’s Bees customers have spoken, and they want a mobile re-order option.
